Gem Shekerzade is an award winning film editor with industry experience both in the UK and overseas. After achieving a distinction in his masters degree 'Editing for Film' from Goldsmiths University in 2019, Gem was hired by the NFTS to work as an editor for the school's independant filmmaking programme.

Gem now works primarily as a freelancer, and his work has gone on to showcase all over the world. His most notable fiction films 'Rice and Bread' and 'Yeah Yeah' have showcased at London Short Film Festival, POFF Shorts, BFI presents UNDR LNDN'21, with the former achieving BAFTA nominated status. 

Highly proficient on AVID Media Composer, Premiere Pro and Da Vinci, Gem works from a private studio in East London and very much considers himself to be an 'end to end' storyteller. He prides himself on his ability to problem solve in the cutting room and to deliver the director's vision consistently and precisely.
